Welcome to the Cold War Boats Association and website. Feel free to take a look around, and leave a comment here to let us know you stopped by, and what you liked (or didn't like!).

If you'd like to see more, you are invited to register for full access to the site, which includes thousands of photographs and sea stories from the men who served on submarines during the Cold War between 1947 and 1992.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact the administrators using the CONTACT link at the bottom of every page.

In the meantime, the smoking lamp is lit, so grab a cup of joe and relax as you wander around and experience what it was like to serve on one of the most sophisticated submarines dedicated to bringing an end to the Cold War.

Don't forget to leave a comment!

My time on subs
I served on the USS George Washington SSBN/SSN 598G. On my first patrol (the last gold crew patrol) in 1981, we hit and sank the Japanese freighter, Nisho Maru. I stayed with the boat through decommissioning . I then after MM C school and a few weeks on Groton Ct. shore patrol I went to the USS Andrew Jackson SSBN 519 and made 2 patrols before leaving the navy in 1987.

Ship's Public Affairs
This site is a great accomplishment. I look forward to other warriors to check in and register. I will be down in central America (Guatemala) to pickup a 42 foot sailboat I bought. One of the bucket list items that still remains is navigating the Panama Canal. The sailboat is in Rio Dulce (Caribbean side) and my crew and I will transit in December. I will be completing a refit in Pensacola, FL first to complete US Coast Guard EPA regulations.

This is an example of a comment posted in the Fleet Visitors Log. Have comments about the website in general? Kudos? Recommendations ? This is the place for those sort of comments.

Gripes? Bitches? Problems? We have a place for those too, it's just not here. If the FAQs don't answer your questions, and your problem is still unresolved, create a Help Ticket, using the Watch, Quarter & Station Bill in the right hand column of most pages.

Comments about a specific boat? Go to that boat's Home page using the Fleet menus above, and look for a Visitors Log unique to that boat. Can't find a boat's Visitors Log? I'm not surprised - most boats don't have them yet - file a Help Ticket, and we'll get to it!

So that all said, keep it clean (this is a family-friendly site) and tell us here what you like about the site or what you'd like to see.

We'll be pleased to hear what you're thinking.

Brad
