Gregory Scott Ramsey, 56, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away June 9, 2013.
Greg served in the U.S. Navy.
A private family memorial service will be held.
As a shipmate of Greg’s who is now a pastor, I’d consider it an honor to help the family in their time of grief. I have great memories and know I will miss him — as will many of his shipmates.

My sincere condolences. Greg and I served together on the USS Parche. It was a special time with a special group of people. Greg will never be forgotten. Mariners lore refers to Fiddlers Green where sailors with more than 50 years at sea go when they die. My hopes are all mariners go there

I served with Greg on USS Parche. Greg taught me much about submarines, how to be a submariner, and was a great patient professional with new guys like myself. I am deeply sorry for this loss to his family and to our Parche family. Rest your oars Greg and thank you for your service to our country.

Going to miss you Greg. You were a great shipmate when I knew you on Parche. My sincere condolences to your family. You will be missed.
There is a port of no return, where ships
May ride at anchor for a little space
And then, some starless night, the cable slips,
Leaving an eddy at the mooring place...
Gulls, veer no longer. Sailor, rest your oar.
No tangled wreckage will be washed ashore.
