SSN 680 LOGROOM ARCHIVES
1973 Deck Logs
The Deck Log - Remarks Sheet provides formal UNCLASSIFIED documentation regarding the position and significant daily activities of the USS WILLIAM H. BATES (SSN 680) including destination and departure ports, where moored when in port, and other naval vessels in the vicinity, especially when moored alongside another vessel.
Because the Remarks Sheet is an UNCLASSIFIED document, and given the nature of submarine operations, locations, actvities, and destinations are often omitted or redacted for operational security.
Despite this handicap, the Deck Log Remarks Sheet is a wealth of critical information covering more than 28 years, and provides insight into the daily operations of the ship and crew that were the USS WILLIAM H. BATES (SSN 680).
Volunteers are needed to help process this information into the USS WILLIAM H. BATES (SSN 680) database through this website.
All you need is your computer, access to the site, and your time and energy. If you volunteer, details will be provided on exactly what you would do to support this project.
If you don't have the time, visual acuity, or patience to commit to data entry, verification and validation, please contribute to our Master Sailing List Research fund. You can make a one-time or recurring donation by credit card or Paypal using the "Support The Site!" campaign found at HOMEPORT >> DISBURSING >> COLD WAR BOATS, or you can contact us to determine how and where to mail a check.
Total cost of this record recovery is expected to exceed $1200.00 for each of 394 boats, and support commands.
Either way, your support is greatly appreciated.
