P.O.D.

The site commenting system is back in business! One of the many things left to port over from the old site to the new one, the comment system was a complex one that defied easy migration. I finally got up the courage to take it on recently, and am pleased to say that this vital piece of the ssn-680.org website is now installed and functioning. Better yet, none of the 228 comments that had previously been made on the old site were lost. Every comment came through intact, still associated with the correct article and person making the comment, at least as far as I could tell!

1976 naples 001So now there is even one more reason to browse the history of the Bates that we have captured on the site. You can comment on any article or photo gallery that you would like, having your comments recorded for posterity...

...I invite you to visit the site when you get a chance, and don't be afraid to leave comments. This is your chance to provide input to every piece of Bates history on the site, identifying people and places in photographs, clarifying the confusion that surrounds our foggy memories of what really happened, and squaring away any shipmate that gets too far out of bounds in the telling of sea stories!
