P.O.D.

Just a quick update to let you know how things are going.

  • I've added more Crossing the Line - 1983 photos to the Crew Galleries - check them out and help identify crew members from that period.
  • I put up a poll on the Homeport/POD pages to see how many of you would attend a September get together in San Diego. This is for all of you that would rather not wait a year or more for a more organized formal reunion. Add your vote so we can start planning.
  • More and more sea stories are coming on line. If you want to write your own, contact me. Check the FAQ for details.
  • I see some of you are updating your profiles with details, photos, biographies, etc. This is a great way to update all your shipmates at once so you don't have to continually repeat yourself.
  • Want to learn more about your shipmates - read their profiles. You can click on their name in the Current Watchsection module or any of the Sailing Lists.
  • I am almost complete on development and testing the Missing Shipmate database - as soon as it can go on-line, I'll let you know, Mark Gray has already accumulated almost 1300 names - then you can start checking and adding your own, and reporting progress in contacting them.
  • Thanks to everyone that is writing Sea Stories - I review them as fast as I can get to them and post them, so be patient - sometimes it can be a few days.
  • Current conversation supports a 82-85 Core Group reunion in San Diego in conjunction with the USSVI conference in September this year. Update the poll on Homeport or POD pages and let us know if it works for you. More details will be posted in the Reunion section as it evolves.
  • School of the Boat at 1430 - if you don't want to stay late, make sure you wake up all your shipmates and get them there on time.
