We have places for photos of yourself on the site. By this, I mean a photo that identifies you, like your driver's license or passport photos, as opposed to the ones we took of each other on liberty, or the photo of you getting your dolphins pinned on.
First, there is the photo that you use to identify you on the site, that shows up in the Scuttlebutt forum and is your User Image on your User Profile. This is also called your avatar. To change this image, or to add one, go the the Sailing List and click on your name, or click on your name in the Current Watchsection, or click on Your Profile in the Watch Quarter and Station Bill. Your user profile will open.
At the top of the page, there is an Edit button. Mouse over the Edit button, and select Update Your Image (or Remove Image) depending on what you want to do. Remember, this only affects your avatar - your user profile image. Follow the instructions, and your image should be added, adjusted, uploaded, resized, etc. as necessary, automatically, to produce your new profile image. Now you can go to the forum or elsewhere, and your image will show up with your postings.
The other two photo options are reserved for then and now photos. Go to your User Profile. Under the same Edit button, select Update Your Profile. Select either the Photo Then tab, or the Photo Now tab, and you can upload a photo to each. These are not automated, but they are very flexible, and therefore look really complicated. Follow the instructions on the tab, and you shouldn't have any problem.
The Photo Then and Photo Now only appear in your profile on the corresponding tab, and not anywhere else in the site, but for shipmates examining your profile, they have quick reference to what you looked like then compared to how to identify you at the reunion now.
Check out my profile, Brad Williamson, to see what you can do with yours.
