P.O.D.

April 7th, 4 months and 25 days, less than 5 months until REGROUPEX 17.

Work continues at a frantic pace. Here is what we know.

Steve Snyder is leading the charge in contacting active members on the dink list (there were almost 90 at last count) whose email addresses are no longer valid. We want them to know about the reunion too, so this a valuable and rewarding effort. Any assistance he could get would be appreciated.

Ron Squiers has been working the event schedule. He has determined, regrettably, that there are no boats scheduled for port calls nearby that we had hoped to be able to tour. That may change at the last minute, but in the meantime, he continues to identify group activities that might be of interest to all.

Julie and Jim Benjamin have assumed responsibility as Reception Coordinators. They will be preparing nametags/badges and arranging the welcoming protocol for all attendees.

Miles Bradley is working on the ballcaps with his wife Donna. Each registration for REGROUPEX 17 will include a custom Navy-style Bates ballcap with appropriate silver or gold dolphins! If you remember REGROUPEX 09, these were terrific! You'll want to order an extra!

Chuck Phillipe has provided details on RV berthing in the area - in is currently listed in the Scuttlebutt forum. I will make it available in a future newsletter, or on demand, if you ask me.

I'm frantically juggling the website, these communications, and a working budget for the reunion. Good thing I don't have a day job!

We only have 28 shipmates that have indicated that they are planning to attend. I'm expecting many more of want to, and just aren't sure, but it would help if you would at least indicate your desire to attend. We have a lot of planning to do, and it will be easier if we know what your plans are.

We need you to get in the game. The earlier ‘GET HOT!’ article discusses the action necessary on your part. We could also use some help in the open Reunion Planning positions. Most importantly, we need to get the word out. Take a few minutes and call a shipmate, registered here or not, and let them know. Every little bit helps!

Til then, see you in September!
