On your end, the most important thing to know is that all the content is still there - we aren't dropping anything. All the photographs, all the sea stories, the Crew Gallery, the forum we call the Scuttlebutt all remain intact just as they where when you last saw them.
The most important new feature is that the two databases we were using, one for the Registered Site Users, and one for the Master Sailing list have been combined into one.
That means all the data is in one place, and while we are still working out the details on how you can add what you know, you already have access to every user registered on the site and all known personnel that have sailed on the USS William H. Bates.
So it's back to the heady days of 2008 when the site first went up. There is a lot of work going on, things are changing every day, so check in frequently and report any issues you find using the Help Requests, Feature Requests, and Bug Reports sections of the Scuttlebutt >> Web Site section. Be patient and remember that it is a work in progress, and you should do just fine.
Your old username and password should still work - if not, use the Password/User Name Reminder link on the Watch, Quarter, and Station Bill.
I hope you enjoy this site. It has been a lot of work, but I consider it only a small token of the appreciation I feel for the friends I served with back in the 80's, the men of the USS William H. Bates!
