Turnover Log - 17 SEP 09

Uploaded lots of photos last night from the 82-83 time courtesy Dave McConnell. Dave sent them to the site months ago, and it was only his incessant nagging (not really) that got me into action. As with all your photos, there are some gems in there. They have been posted to the Crews Gallery under various topics, including Boat >> Pearl Harbor, Hawaii - 1982, Crew >> Underway - 1982, and Liberty Ports >> Sasebo, Japan - 1982, Subic Bay - 1982, and Pattaya Beach, Thailand - 1983.

If you have any photographs of your time on board the Bates, scan them and get them uploaded. If you don't have a scanner, contact me and I'll make arrangements to get them scanned, one way or the other.

Try to think of this site like the Smithsonian - a historical archive of a key boat in the Cold War. If you have anything that helps with that history, it needs to be stored here. Don't let it sit in your garage or attic, when it could be part of something really big. Share your memorabilia with your shipmates, and let us archive it here for generations to come.
