P.O.D.

Life continues here in the fast lane at ssn-680.org. Lots going on - my apologies if I don't jump into your 1MC conversations when I'm logged in. It's not just that I'm anti-social, but I'm testing, adding, updating and tweaking all the time - I can't stop, somebody help me!

No, seriously, the site takes work to make it work for you, so I'm having to fight the battle between Administrator and User all the time.

On the Admin front:

  • I modified the login so that you redirected to the POD when you log in. Maybe some of you will read it!
  • I added links in the Log In/Log Out tab to let you view or update your Profile. You can also get there by clicking on your name in either the Current Watchsection or Welcome Aboard modules.
  • I have added a bunch of sub-categories to the Crew Gallery section to help you find items of interest easier. The dates and locations may not be precise - if you find something that needs correcting, PM me through my profile page.
  • I rearranged many user added photos in the new categories. Let me know if I didn't get them right.
  • When you post pictures to the Crew Gallery, make sure it goes into an appropriate sub-category. If one doesn't exist, you can create one on the Control Panel while you are posting photos. Instructions will follow, but the format should be obvious.

On the User front:

  • I've added a bunch of photos from the 1983 (thanks, Sean) crossing the line ceremony. They are nasty, but I posted them in the Crew Gallery so you could help identify all the slimy bodies. I have many more to post - I'm less than half way through the photos from the ceremony, but this is one of those times when I probably photographed everybody on the ship in one day. So if you were on board - check out the photos and identify the crew - add thier names to the comments, and I'll update the descriptions as we go.
  • By the way, when you post photos to the Crew Gallery, put people's names in the description field - if someone helps identify someone in your photo, update the description. The search function checks the description field, but not the comments, so if you update the description, we can search by name to find photos of a given individual.
  • Lastly, if you are tempted to include a photo in a Scuttlebutt post, instead, add it to the Crew Gallery. The Gallery will automatically generate a link to the photo that you can cut and paste in the Scuttlebutt post, which lets users click and see the full size image, instead of the big thumbnail that an upload in the forum gives you.
  • That is all. Live it up.
