The image 1990 - PSNS Crew Photo Name-A-Sailor (courtesy of Brad Allen) was taken in the dry dock at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard somewhere in or around 1990, and shows seventy-three shipmates standing under the bow of the Bates, providing a classic opportunity for those who served during that time period to help identify shipmates.

The same goes for 1972 - Pascagoula Awards Ceremony Name-A-Sailor (courtesy of Michael Pitcock) was taken sometime after the U.S.S Redfish became the U.S.S William H. Bates and before the Bates left the shipyard. In the courtyard at Blue Lake Manor, an awards ceremony is being held with at least twenty-two faces visible, giving us another chance to match names to faces before our memories go completely!
