Time to take this reunion planning to the next level, and that means getting each one of you to go to the ssn-680.org website and indicate if you would attend REGROUPEX 17!

So here’s the deal.

REGROUPEX 17 - an all-hands reunion 01 SEP - 04 SEP 2017 in Orlando, FL at the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel concurrent with the USSVI convention and other boat reunions.

PRICE - yet to be determined, and it will be influenced by the response. More commitments, lower cost. Expect something in the neighborhood of $75 to maintain the reunion suite and keep it stocked with refreshing beverages and succulent treats while we lounge around spinning sea stories. Additionally, you’ll pay for your room, cost of which is unknown at this point.

COMMITMENT - nothing hard and fast at this point. If you are planning to attend, let me know by going to ssn-680.org, logging in, and updating your reunion plans. How do you do that? Excellent question. Simply log in to the website, go to Reunions >> REGROUPEX 17 >> Attendance Plans. Locate your name on the list (scroll/page/search - searching is fastest). Click where it says “Click Here To Update Your Reunion Plans! Make your choice from the list, click Update, and you are done! That’s it!

(Note how the little pencil icon shows up when you mouse over something in your User Profile that you can edit. That is a new feature that has just been added to allow you to update your user profile, without having to go to your profile and shift to the edit mode. Big time saver for User Profile updates - look for the icon in user lists like the Master Sailing List.)

For those that wish to do the “Let’s Go RV’ing” thing here are some suggestions. I have a large 40’ Fifth wheel located at Boggy Creek Resort & RV Park Kissimmee, FL. It’s about 20 minutes from Rosen Shingle Creek or 25 minutes from Universal Orlando or Disney World. 5 miles from the airport. Reasonable rates (about $50.00 night 50 amp full hook-ups. Older park and a little tight to drive a big rig through but it has nice old growth trees for shade. That’s a major plus in September in Florida. More of an older friendly retirement type crowd. Option two is “Tropical Palms RV Resort 2650 Holiday Trail Kissimmee, FL 34746. It’s very close to Celebration and about 15 minutes from Rosen Shingle Creek Disney World or Universal Studios. Mixed group in September between late summer family vacationers and retiree’s. Everything from concrete jungle pads to grass. Higher end price scale around $90.00+ per night. Nice place, my sister and her husband stayed for 8 weeks this past winter. Newer not near the shade of older parks. Both places also offer cabins. Tropical Palms are newer and nicer than Boggy Creek’s. Remember, travel time in and around Orlando can very immensely! The land of “I have no clue where I’m going, I have never drove on such a large fast highway, Oh crap, they drive on the right side of the road and the ever popular, I’m actually probably too old to be driving anymore”!

I will update more later with recommended restaurants. You learn fast in “Tourist Land” fancy name, big lights, valet parking does not equate to excellent food at good prices with great service! When your clientele changes faster than most folks change their skivvies who needs to be good!

If you’re wondering why I’m in and around Orlando a lot, it’s because I own and operate a Commercial Dive Company in the Orlando, Cocoa, Daytona area.
